Privacy Notice

We collect information such as:

• account information from the sign-in provider you use, including your name and email;
• details you submit, including your name, phone number, date of birth, and gender;
• records relating to your participation in Tawasaw programs;
• your device's location when you check in or out, if your device shares it;
• technical and usage information generated when you use the Portal, such as device, browser, and log data;
• any other information you choose to provide.

We use this information to verify who you are and match you to Tawasaw's records; to provide and administer access; to communicate with you about Tawasaw programs; to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Portal, including analyzing how it is used; and for other purposes permitted by law or described to you at the time.

The Portal uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as keeping you signed in, remembering your access, security, remembering preferences, and understanding and measuring how the Portal is used. We may use both our own and third-party technologies for these purposes.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking some of them will stop parts of the Portal working, including staying signed in.

We share information with service providers that help us operate the Portal, such as hosting, database, sign-in, communications, and analytics providers; where required or permitted by law, or to respond to lawful requests; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tawasaw, program participants, or others; in connection with a reorganization or transfer of Tawasaw's activities; and otherwise with your consent or at your direction.

The Portal holds information about children who take part in Tawasaw programs, provided to Tawasaw by their parents or guardians. Some of the mentors, volunteers, and staff who hold Portal accounts are themselves under 18; the Portal collects the same information about them as about any other user, as described above. Access is limited according to each user's role, and everyone with access is bound by the confidentiality obligations in the Terms of Use.

We keep information for as long as needed for the purposes described above, including maintaining accurate records of participation, and for legitimate administrative, safeguarding, and legal purposes.

You may contact us at the address below to ask about the information we hold about you, to request a correction, or to ask about deletion. Some records may be retained where we have a legitimate or legal reason to keep them. We will respond as required by applicable law.

We take reasonable measures to protect information in the Portal, including limiting what each account can access. No system is completely secure. Keep your account and any access password to yourself, and report anything that looks wrong.

Tawasaw may update this notice at any time, at its sole discretion. The version published in the Portal is the version that applies. Where a change is significant, the effective date above will be updated, and Tawasaw may ask you to accept the current version before continuing to use the Portal.
